In November 2019,Iron Ore of Canada(Rio Tinto Group)successively installed three sets of TCK W wite rope automatie online monitoring expert systems on the Smoky Mountain ski ropeway to momitor the ire rope safety status of Ski Chair Lin and Platter Litt.The equipment has been running well since its installation.All of the three ropeways are from POMA Group, and the steel ropes are from Fatzer in Switzerland and Arcelor Minal in France. The rope diameters are 032mm,016mm. 016mm,and the lengths are 1615m,455m,535m with nunning sponds of 2.3m/s. 3m/s.3.5m/s respectively.The lowest lemperature foe the equipment operation is -40C.During the installation and commissioning process,both the MRT inspection system and the machine vision inspection system functioned normally, and2 moderate defects,5 minor defects and 2 slight defects were found.The maximum defect value was 3.95%.which was also capiured by machine vision inspection system.The inspection result is consistent with theactual defect.which is thought of a defect made by fixed grip pinch, resulting in two continuous broken wires and local integrated compression deformation.The inspection results meet the comesponding standard requirements and our actual needs.lt has passed acceptance test and is in normal use.TCK.W wire rope automatic online monitoring expert system combines new technical means of MRT inspection system and machine vision inspection system. which is the most effective means to ensure the safety of cable car wire ropes.These three sets of system have saved us from going outside to inspect the steel wire rope manually in the cold winter,and have a more comprchensive accuracy than the manual inspection of the defect.
